The Minnesota Valley Trust acquires land for the Minnesota Valley National Wildlife Refuge within authorized boundaries between Chaska and Henderson, as shown on the map outlined in yellow.
Lands acquired for the Wetland Management District can be viewed in the other two maps.
Much of the land acquired to-date by the Minnesota Valley Trust has benefited from significant financial assistance from the Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund (as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources) and the Outdoor Heritage Fund (as recommended by the Lessard-Sams Outdoor Heritage Council).
Supportive funding also has been received from the North American Wetland Conservation Act.
The Minnesota Valley Trust works only with landowners who are willing to sell or donate their land to be managed in perpetuity as part of the Refuge.
